Matchbook Learning's Burns Elementary/Middle School in Detroit was nominated as one of eight K-8 schools in the country worth visiting.  A testament to the hardwork of the Principal, Adminstrators, Teachers and Students at Burns making this school turnaorund one worth noting.  Schools on this list from Education Week 's Tom Vander Ark were selected because they were "schools that achieve extraordinary results, create powerful learning experiences, and/or have created innovative technology blends".  See the full list here.
