Touchstone Education, a leading blended charter school management organization is joining Matchbook Learning. Touchstone Education’s management team and its innovative blended charter middle school, Merit Prep in Newark, NJ, will become part of Matchbook Learning. The combined entity will continue to transform the lives of our nation’s most needy children in schools we are redefining in Detroit, Newark and eventually across the nation.
Ben Rayer, Touchstone’s Founder & CEO, will serve as Matchbook Learning’s Chief Strategy Officer and lead our strategy, growth and model development. Ben Rayer states, “This merger combines the capacities of two organizations that share a similar vision of what is wrong with K-12 public education in America and how we can go about fixing it in a smart, scalable and effective way. “ Rayer continues, “I am thrilled at the opportunities this will open for us.”
Nishita Gupte, Touchstone’s Chief Operating Officer will become the Chief Operating Officer for Matchbook Learning.
Al Motley who led Touchstone’s technology work will become the Chief Technology Officer for Matchbook Learning.
